We all do it. We make this resolution to either lose weight, be healthy, get fit,etc.,etc.,etc. The gyms are full in January and taper off fairly soon after that. Most resolutions are fairly unattainable for someone who doesn't work out on a regular basis to start. But...YOU have to start somewhere. Start today with making lifestyle changes! These changes will happen over time and you'll be able to keep them too. For example, my husband and I have made it a point to try not to eat processed foods. For the most part we don't buy many food items in the center of the grocery store( the bad section). I try to make everything from scratch, but I'm not Martha Stewart-so there are a few items I don't know how to substitute. This might be too much to change for some of you right now, but start small and you will eventually not want the items you are taking out of your diet. You will also feel better, I know I did. Here are some ideas to start you on your path to a great diet...1) Eat 6 small meals a day,not 3 huge meals--Smaller meals will help to jumpstart your metabolism - 2) Drink 64oz. of water a day- most people are dehydrated which causes you to retain water - 3) Cut out the soda and energy drinks--These also dehydrate your body. Now,what about exercise? Most people hate to exercise. But that's because they don't exercise regularly. Once you make an initiative to workout on a consistent schedule, you will start to miss working out and you will feel worse when you don't work out. Sounds weird doesn't it? To start exercising, find an activity that YOU LIKE TO DO, and DO IT!! If you don't like what you're doing in your workouts, you won't work out- simple as that. Try to start with working out 4-5 times a week for 30-45 minutes, change your diet and you have already made small changes to be a healthier you!
